Maximizes patient safety and comfort by incorporating state of the art silicone technology with an innovative cuff expansion system. The hydrophobic nature of silicone makes protein adhesion difficult, reducing the opportunity for bacterial growth on the tube. The Fome-Cuf system allows direct cuff volume measurement, the key indicator of tracheal wall changes. The Cuff Maintenance Device (CMD), a 60 mL syringe with an attached 3-way stopcock, directly measures cuff volume and simplifies routine cuff maintenance. The auto- expanding foam filled cuff conforms to the unique contours of each patient's trachea. During mechanical ventilation the patented AutoControl connectors insure the lowest possible cuff to tracheal wall(C-T) sealing pressure throughout the ventilatory cycle.
