Povidone Iodine Topical Gel, PVP-I Gel Flip-top Cap, 4 oz. This multi-purpose topical gel contains 10% Povidone Iodine USP, 1% available Iodine, for broad-spectrum germicidal action. As a pre-operative prep, Povidone Iodine Gel helps to minimize pooling of prepping solutions under the patient, thus reducing the chance of skin irritation. The Gel is also approved as a one step gel for venipuncture site preparation prior to blood and plasma collection. Povidone Iodine Gel is film forming, creating the desirable residual microbial action typical of PVP-I, which has been shown to be effective against gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria, fungi, viruses, protozoa and yeasts. It is virtually non-irritating to skin, wounds and mucous membranes and is virtually non-staining to skin and natural fabrics. Uses: As a pre-surgical prep, As a site prep for blood donors.
