TempaChek -90. Illustrate the temperature of the initial rinse, enzyme stage and detergent wash of the automated washer. When using an automated instrument washer, the temperature of the initial rinse water should not exceed 45°C (113°F) and should remain significantly below this level. At 45°C, blood quickly denatures and becomes highly insolvent. If the washer utilizes an enzyme detergent, it is important that the temperature remain within the optimal range (typically 100°F - 125°F). If the washer utilizes non-enzyme detergent, the temperature is also important, with a minimum temperature typically being above 150°F. The TempaChek -90 is an irreversible thermometer that measures and records temperatures from 90° - 140°F. By monitoring the thermometer during the washer cycle, the proper cold water rinse, enzymatic soak and detergent wash stages can be monitored. UOM: 10/PK.

TempaChek -170 High Temperature Test. Picture the Thermal Disinfection Temperature of the Automated Washer with TempaChek -170. With modern automated instrument washers, water temperature is typically the key source of thermal disinfection. The level of disinfection and time & temperature to achieve that level differ between brands of washers. Additionally, it is important to keep in mind that the targeted disinfection temperature is the surface temperature, not the temperature of the water injected into the chamber. The TempaChek -170 is an irreversible monitor which measures and records temperatures from 170°F - 220°F. By monitoring the thermometer during the thermal disinfection stage, it can be determined if the washer is reaching the target thermal disinfection temperature. UOM: 10/PK.

In particular, hard water binds up detergent molecules, preventing them from breaking down the contaminants. Further, these molecules are often a source of staining and pitting of surgical instruments. Enzymes used in enzymatic detergent are highly influenced by the pH level of water. An improper pH level can lead to the partial or complete inactivation of the enzymes relied upon to breakdown the soil on instruments. LumCheck. Observe the Inside-Out with LumCheck. Observe the Inside-Out with LumCheck. LumCheck is designed as an independent check on the cleaning performance of pulse-flow lumen washers. Embedded on the stainless steel plate is a specially formulated blood soil which includes the toughest components of blood to clean. After washing, if the LumCheck is visually clean, the test indicates that the washing device is working properly. If residue remains on the plate, the LumCheck indicates a failure in the washing process, which requires further investigation. The LumCheck is made up of three key components: The Test Soil, the Stainless Steel Plate and the LumCheck Holder. The Soil is composed of blood components mixed and applied in a precise manufacturing process. As a result, it provides a consistent challenge to the cleaning effectiveness of the MIS cleaning device. The stainless steel plate is scratched, replicating the uneven interior of lumen instruments. The Holder enables the attachment of the Test to the cleaning equipment and also replicates the cleaning challenge of cannulated instruments.
